Media Mill changelog

What changed in each public Media Mill release, newest first.

2.0.0 · October 16, 2026

Run any action without building a workflow, find items in a large Library, and the current macOS design.

  • Run… (⌘R) runs any action on your items without building a workflow. Workflows and single actions share one list, with search and your recent choices.
  • Wherever you choose items, you can search titles, transcripts and outputs, filter by tag, media or status, and select every item that can run in one click.
  • The current macOS design on macOS 26 and later.
  • AI actions finish faster. On our test Mac, an AI action took less than half the time it took in 1.0.
  • Press Space for Quick Look, drag a link onto the Library to add it, and use ⌘S and ⌘R in the workflow editor.
  • YouTube downloads work again. When you add a link, Media Mill updates its website support if it’s out of date, and tries once more if a download fails in a way a newer version could fix.
  • Updates download on their own. When one is ready, choose Relaunch to update.
  • Burned subtitles are larger and bolder, fit vertical phone videos, and display Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Korean correctly. Run… › Burn subtitles replaces Make subtitled copy.
  • Speech detection counts short real speech and song lyrics as speech.
  • More than 100 other fixes from a full review of the app.

1.0.1 · August 9, 2026

Fixes for three problems found right after 1.0.0.

  • Media Mill no longer asks to access data from other apps when it starts.
  • The Safari extension works.
  • Chrome-family browser setup happens only when you turn on browser capture.
  • The download is a standard Mac disk image: open it and drag Media Mill to Applications.

1.0.0 · August 9, 2026

The first public release.

  • Save a link or add a file. Each item keeps its source media and everything made from it in one folder.
  • Transcription runs on the Mac and produces a timed transcript and a readable Markdown file.
  • AI actions write overviews, study guides and more, from prompts you can read and edit.
  • Subtitled and translated copies, cleaned-up audio, highlight cuts, audiograms and format conversions.
  • 10 starter workflows, every one editable.
  • Search every transcript and document by meaning or by exact words.
  • AI assistants can search and work with the Library, each behind its own permission switch, and a command-line interface drives the same core.
